U1141-LOST ESP TORQUE REQUEST MESSAGE

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.

- When Monitored:
Continuously while the system is active.

- Set Condition:
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has not received a torque request over the bus circuit from the Electronic Stability Program (ESP)/ABS Module.





Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting Procedure.

1. ACTIVE DTC

NOTE: For vehicle communication problems, use the scan tool to refer to the Network Review Screen. The screen depicts a high level view of the vehicle network. Fault and problem areas appear in red. Selecting any of the network components allows access to the source of the problem.

NOTE: Diagnose all CAN communication DTCs before continuing.

1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With a scan tool, view DTCs.

Is the status Active for this DTC?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Perform the Stored Lost Communication DTCs diagnostic procedure. Stored Lost Communication DTCs

2. ABS/ESP COMMUNICATION RELATED DTCS IN OTHER MODULES
1. With a scan tool check for ABS/ESP communication related DTCs in other modules on the CAN Bus.

Are there any ESP communication related DTCs in other modules on the CAN Bus at this time?

Yes

- Replace and program the ABS Module.
- Perform the ABS VERIFICATION TEST. ABS Verification Test.

No

- Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). PCM/ECM Reprogramming
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Powertrain Verification Test.
