U110E
U110E-LOST AMBIENT TEMPERATURE MESSAGE
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.
Theory of Operation
The ambient temperature sensor signal is a direct input to the Body Control Module (BCM). The BCM sends the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) the ambient temperature signal over the CAN C bus.
- When Monitored:
Ignition on.
- Set Condition:
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) doesn't receive the ambient temperature signal over the CAN C bus from the BCM. The circuit is continuously monitored. One Trip fault.
Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting Procedure.
1. ACTIVE DTC
1. Ignition on, engine not running.
2. With the scan too, select View PCM DTCs.
Is the DTC Active at this time?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Intermittent Condition Test
2. U1040-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) ALSO ACTIVE
1. With the scan too, select View DTCs.
Is the U1040-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) also set?
Yes
- Perform the U1040-00-Lost Communication with Body Control Module (BCM) diagnostic procedure. U1040
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Powertrain Verification Test.
No
- Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). PCM/ECM Reprogramming
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Powertrain Verification Test.
