B2850-11-DRIVER DOOR AMBIENT LAMP CONTROL - CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.
Theory of Operation
An ambient lamp can be a: map pocket, door handle, halo ring, cup holder, etc. It is a LED with a built in circuit board.
- When Monitored:
Whenever the ambient lamp is commanded to be on.
- Set Condition:
When the Driver Door Ambient Lamp Driver circuit falls below 3.0 volts for over 2000 ms. and the above conditions are met, this code will set.
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
NOTE: Be sure the thumbwheels on the Dimmer Module are turned fully on during this test.
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
3. Cycle the ignition on to off three times and leave in the Lock position.
4. Turn the park lamps on.
5. Wait one minute.
6. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B2850-11-DRIVER DOOR AMBIENT LAMP CONTROL - CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
2. DRIVER DOOR HANDLE LAMP SHORTED
