B233D-13-FRONT/REAR WASHER MOTOR (+) CONTROL - CIRCUIT OPEN

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.

With the Front Washer Pump Motor on.

- Set Condition:
When the Body Control Module (BCM) detects an open on the Washer Pump Motor Control circuit.





1. INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, clear DTCs.
3. Turn the Front Windshield Washers on and off.
4. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.

Does the scan tool read: B233D-13-FRONT/REAR WASHER MOTOR (+) CONTROL - CIRCUIT OPEN?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition that caused the symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

2. CHECK THE WASHER PUMP MOTOR FOR CORRECT OPERATION
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Washer Pump Motor harness connector.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (W10) Front Washer Pump Motor Control circuit.
5. Turn the Front Windshield Washers on and off.

Does the test light illuminate when the Front Windshield Washers are turned on?

Yes

- Replace the Washer Pump Motor. Windshield Washer Pump - Removal.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 3

3. CHECK THE (W10) FRONT WASHER PUMP MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the BCM A harness connector.
3. Measure the resistance of the (W10) Front Washer Pump Motor Control circuit between the BCM A harness connector and the Washer Pump Motor harness connector.

Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?

Yes

- Replace the BCM. Body Control Module - Removal.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Repair the open in the (W10) Front Washer Pump Motor Control circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
