B21F8
B21F8-13-EXTERIOR LIGHTING POWER SUPPLY INPUT 1 - CIRCUIT OPEN
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.
- When Monitored:
Continuously.
- Set Condition:
When the Body Control Module (BCM) detects a low voltage condition on the (A903) Fused B(+) circuit, where the voltage input is below 1.0 volt for more than one second.
1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display DTC: B21F8-13-EXTERIOR LIGHTING POWER SUPPLY INPUT 1 - CIRCUIT OPEN as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
2. CHECK FOR A MISSING OR BLOWN FUSE
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Visually inspect Fuse 6.
Is the fuse missing or blown?
Yes
- If the fuse is blown, repair the short to ground in the (A903) Fused B(+) circuit. Replace the fuse.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 3
3. CHECK THE (A903) FUSED B(+) CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the BCM C harness connector.
3. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (A903) Fused B(+) circuit in the BCM C harness connector.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Replace the BCM. Body Control Module - Removal.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Repair the open in the (A903) Fused B(+) circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
