Amplifier (AMP)

Theory of Operation

The Amplifier monitors CAN messages. The Amplifier sets a DTC if the module receives a CAN message indicating battery voltage is above a certain voltage.

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.

- Set Condition:
This Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is set when the Amplifier receives a CAN message indicating the battery voltage is above 16 volts for greater than 15 seconds.





CHECK FOR POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) DTCs
1. Using the scan tool, read the active PCM DTCs.

Are there any battery or charging system DTCs present?

Yes

- Testing and Inspection Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.

No

- This DTC is informational only. At some time there was a high battery system voltage. Check the charging system.
