B1A89-00-ELV/ESCL CONFIGURATION MISMATCH

- When Monitored:
Anytime the Key-In Ignition Node is pressed.
- Set Condition:
When the Radio Frequency Hub (RF Hub) is alerted by the Body Control Module (BCM) that the vehicle is equipped with the wrong type of Steering Column Lock module (Export), this code will set.
NOTE: This code should only set in an "Export" vehicle.
NOTE: The ELV is one style of the Steering Column Lock Module. The ESCL (Electronic Steering Column Lock) Module is used on other models.
1. VERIFY THAT DTC IS ACTIVE
1. With the scan tool, record and erase RF Hub DTCs.
2. Try to turn the ignition on and off several times.
3. Wait one minute.
4. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B1A89-00-ELV/ESCL CONFIGURATION MISMATCH as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the THEFT AND SECURITY SYSTEM INTERMITTENT TEST. RF Hub Intermittent Condition Test
2. STEERING COLUMN LOCK MODULE NOT CONFIGURED
1. With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
2. With the scan tool on the "Vehicle View", select: "Diagnostic Procedures".
3. Perform the "Restore Vehicle Configuration".
4. Wait one minute.
5. With the scan tool, select the Body Control Module.
6. Select "ECU Details".
7. Scroll to "ELV Present". It should read "Set".
8. Scroll to "ESCL System Present". It should also read "Set".
Does the scan tool display the readings as listed above?
Yes
- Test complete.
- Perform the Body Verification Test. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the Steering Column Lock Module. The Radio Frequency Hub (RF-Hub) must also be replaced along with the Steering Column Lock Module (ELV/ESCL). When replacing the RF-Hub and the Steering Column Lock Module (ELV/ESCL), the RF-Hub MUST be programmed BEFORE the Steering Column Lock Module (ELV/ESCL) is programmed..
- Replace and program the Radio Frequency Hub (RF-Hub) Radio Frequency Module (RF Hub) - Removal.
- Replace and program the Steering Column Lock Module (ELV/ESCL). Shaft Lock Module - Removal
- Perform the RADIO FREQUENCY HUB VERIFICATION TEST. RF Hub Verification Test
