B156B-2B SATELLITE RADIO ANTENNA - WIRES SHORTED TOGETHER
Special Tools:
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.
- When Monitored:
With the ignition on and the Telematics Gateway (TGW) in Satellite mode.
- Set Condition:
This DTC sets when the TGW detects a Satellite Antenna is shorted together.
1. CHECK THE ANTENNA CONNECTION
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Satellite Radio Antenna connections.
3. Inspect the Satellite Radio Antenna connections.
Are the Antenna connections clean and secure?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Repair the Antenna connection as needed.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
2. CHECK THE ANTENNA AND CABLE
1. Connect the Radio Diagnostic Tool to the Satellite Antenna connection on the back of the TGW.
2. Make sure one of the front doors is still open.
3. Using the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
4. Turn the ignition on.
5. Turn the TGW on.
6. Using the scan tool, read the active TGW DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B156B-2B SATELLITE RADIO ANTENNA- WIRES SHORTED TOGETHER as active?
Yes
- Replace the TGW. Telematics Gateway Module - Removal.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 3
3. TEST THE SATELLITE ANTENNA CABLE
1. Disconnect the Satellite Antenna cable at the Satellite Antenna.
2. Connect the appropriate Radio Diagnostic Tool or to the Satellite Antenna cable at the back of the TGW.
3. Connect the appropriate Radio Diagnostic Tool or to the Satellite Antenna cable at the Satellite Antenna.
4. Measure the Resistance across the terminals on the tool.
Is the resistance below 47.5 Ohms?
Yes
- Use the Radio Diagnostic Tool to locate the short together, repair or replace the Satellite Antenna cable as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the Satellite Antenna. Satellite Radio Antenna - Removal
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
