B1562-2B-GPS ANTENNA - WIRES SHORTED TOGETHER

Special Tools:










For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on and the Telematics Gateway (TGW) in navigation mode.

- Set Condition:
This DTC sets when the TGW detects a Global Positioning System (GPS) Antenna connection is shorted together.





1. ACTIVE DTCs
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Turn the TGW off.
3. Make sure one of the front doors is still open.
4. Using the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
5. Turn the TGW on.
6. Using the scan tool, read the active TGW DTCs.

Is B1562-2B-GPS ANTENNA - WIRES SHORTED TOGETHER active?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Test Complete. The condition(s) that originally set this DTC are no longer present. Inspect the antenna cable connections between the TGW to the GPS antenna.

2. SATELLITE RADIO OPERATION

Does the satellite radio function properly?

Yes

- The satellite radio and GPS share the same antenna cable. If the Satellite radio is functioning properly, replace the GPS Antenna puck.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 3

3. TEST THE SATELLITE ANTENNA CABLE
1. Disconnect the Satellite/GPS Antenna cable at the Satellite Antenna.
2. Connect the appropriate Radio Diagnostic Tool (9977-6-1) or (9977-6-3) to the Satellite Antenna cable at the back of the TGW.
3. Connect the appropriate Radio Diagnostic Tool (9977-6-4) or (9977-6-2) to the Satellite Antenna cable at the Satellite Antenna base.
4. Measure the Resistance across the terminals on the tool.

Is the resistance below 47.5 Ohms?

Yes

- Use the (9977-6) to locate the short, repair or replace the Satellite Antenna cable as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Replace the Telematics Gateway Module. Telematics Gateway Module - Removal.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
