B00B5-9A-DRIVER SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR - COMPONENT OR SYSTEM OPERATING CONDITIONS

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.

Theory of Operation

When powered, the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) sends a test current to the seat track position sensors. During this test, the sensors discovered are checked for agreement with the pre-programmed configuration of components assigned to the module.

- When Monitored:
The ORC checks for the presence of seat position sensor circuits once during the initialization process.

- Set Condition:
This DTC sets when the ORC detects the presence of a seat position sensor circuit while the configuration of the module does not reflect a seat track position sensor should be present. Once set, this DTC is latched for the entire power cycle and requires the module to be re-initialized to set code.

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Restraints System Pre-Diagnostic Procedure.

1. CHECK FOR ACTIVE INTERNAL FAULTS, IGNITION FAULTS, AND BATTERY FAULTS IN THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER (ORC)

NOTE: Make ensure the battery is fully charged.

1. With the scan tool, read Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) DTCs.

Does the scan tool display any active DTCs relating to internal faults, ignition faults, or battery faults?

Yes

- Diagnose and repair the DTCs. Testing and Inspection.

No

- Go To 2

2. VERIFY THAT B00B5-9A-DRIVER SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR - COMPONENT OR SYSTEM OPERATING CONDITIONS IS ACTIVE
1. With the scan tool, erase ORC DTCs.
2. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds and then turn the ignition on.
3. Wait 2 minutes, and then with the scan tool, read ORC DTCs.

Does the scan tool display active: B00B5-9A-DRIVER SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR - COMPONENT OR SYSTEM OPERATING CONDITIONS?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Restraints System Verification Test.

3. VERIFY WIRING
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Inspect the driver seat wiring for Seat Position Sensors.

Are Seat Position Sensor(s) present?

Yes

- WARNING: Turn the ignition off, disconnect the battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
WARNING: If the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) is dropped at any time, it must be replaced. Failure to take the proper precautions can result in accidental airbag deployment.
- Replace the ORC. Occupant Restraint Controller - Removal.
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Restraints System Verification Test.

No

- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Restraints System Verification Test.
