B0095-95
B0095-95-RIGHT FRONTAL ACCELERATION SENSOR - INCORRECT ASSEMBLY
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.
Theory of Operation
When powered, the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) sends a test current to the right front impact sensor. During this test, the impact sensors discovered are checked for agreement with the pre-programmed configuration of components assigned to the module. The repair of this fault condition centers on confirming the correct module and wiring is installed in the vehicle.
- When Monitored:
The ORC checks for the presence of right front impact sensor circuits once during the initialization process.
- Set Condition:
This DTC sets when the ORC detects the presence of a seat belt sensor circuit while the configuration of the module does not reflect that a seat belt sensor should be present. Once set, this DTC is latched for the entire ignition cycle.
Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Restraints System Pre-Diagnostic Procedure.
1. CHECK FOR ACTIVE INTERNAL FAULTS, IGNITION FAULTS, AND BATTERY FAULTS IN THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER (ORC)
NOTE: Make sure the battery is fully charged.
1. With the scan tool, read Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) DTCs.
Does the scan tool display any active DTCs relating to internal faults, ignition faults, or battery faults?
Yes
- Diagnose and repair the DTCs. Testing and Inspection.
No
- Go To 2
2. VERIFY THAT B0095-95-RIGHT FRONTAL ACCELERATION SENSOR - INCORRECT ASSEMBLY IS ACTIVE
1. With the scan tool, erase ORC DTCs.
2. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds and then turn the ignition on.
3. Wait 2 minutes, and then with the scan tool, read ORC DTCs.
Does the scan tool display active: B0095-95-RIGHT FRONTAL ACCELERATION SENSOR - INCORRECT ASSEMBLY?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Restraints System Verification Test.
3. VERIFY WIRING
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Inspect the impact sensor wiring for a Right Front Impact Sensor.
Are Right Front Impact Sensor(s) present?
Yes
- WARNING: Turn the ignition off, disconnect the battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
WARNING: If the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) is dropped at any time, it must be replaced. Failure to take the proper precautions can result in accidental airbag deployment.
- Replace the ORC. Occupant Restraint Controller - Removal.
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Restraints System Verification Test.
No
