B0092-95
B0092-95-LEFT SIDE ACCELERATION SENSOR 2 - INCORRECT ASSEMBLY
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.
Theory of Operation
When powered, the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) sends a test current to the seat belt sensors. During this test, the sensors discovered are checked for agreement with the pre-programmed configuration of components assigned to the module. The repair of this fault condition centers on confirming the correct module and wiring is installed in the vehicle.
- When Monitored:
The ORC checks for the presence of seat belt sensor circuits once during the initialization process.
- Set Condition:
This DTC sets when the ORC detects the presence of a seat belt sensor circuit while the configuration of the module does not reflect that a seat belt sensor should be present. Once set, this DTC is latched for the entire ignition cycle.
Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Restraints System Pre-Diagnostic Procedure.
DETERMINE ACTIVE OR STORED DTC
NOTE: Make sure the battery is fully charged.
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Perform ORC module reset. Access the Miscellaneous Function menu from the ORC ECU Overview screen on the scan tool to perform this operation.
3. With the scan tool, read ORC DTCs.
Is the DTC active or stored?
ORC - ACTIVE DTC
- WARNING: Turn the ignition off disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
Inspect the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary. If no short or damage is found, replace the ORC. Occupant Restraint Controller - Removal.
NOTE: Make sure the part number of the replacement module is the correct part number for the vehicle.
WARNING: If the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) is dropped at any time, it must be replaced. Failure to take the proper precautions can result in accidental airbag deployment. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Restraints System Verification Test.
ORC - STORED DTC
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM INTERMITTENT TEST. Restraints System Intermittent Condition Test.
