Center Mounted Brake Lamp - Removal

REMOVAL

CHRYSLER - CONVERTIBLE





1. The deck lid (1) must be placed in the service position to perform the following procedure. . Convertible - Decklid Service Position
2. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
3. Remove the four screws (3) that secure the Center High-Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) (2) to the deck lid inner reinforcement.
4. Unsnap the CHMSL from the inside of the deck lid CHMSL opening.
5. Pull the CHMSL away from the deck lid inner reinforcement far enough to access and disconnect the body wire harness connector (4) from the CHMSL connector receptacle.
6. Remove the CHMSL from the vehicle.

CHRYSLER - FOUR-DOOR





1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the interior trim from both upper C-pillars. C-Pillar Trim Panel - Removal.
3. Remove the two rear headliner push pin retainers and discard. These retainers are not intended for reuse.Headliner - Removal.
4. Gently and evenly pull the headliner down from over the Center High-Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) (4) far enough to disengage the two snap clips that secure the headliner to the snap clip receptacles of the CHMSL housing.
5. Carefully pull and rotate the rearmost edge of the CHMSL housing downward from the inside surface of the back glass far enough to disengage the three snap clips that secure it to the roof rear header (1). Take proper care not to damage the glass or the heated glass grid lines on the inside of the back glass.
6. While still carefully pulling downward on the headliner, slide the CHMSL rearward far enough to disengage the two locator tabs (3) from the slots in the roof rear header.
7. Disconnect the body wire harness connector (2) from the CHMSL connector receptacle.
8. Remove the CHMSL from the vehicle.

DODGE





1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. With the deck lid (1) in the open position, disconnect the body wire harness connector (4) from the Center High-Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) (2) connector receptacle.
3. Remove the two screws (3) that secure the CHMSL to the deck lid inner reinforcement.
4. Unsnap the CHMSL from the inside of the deck lid CHMSL opening.
5. Remove the CHMSL from the vehicle.
