REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Partially remove the rear door stationary glass channel. Refer to the detailed procedures available in DealerConnect > TechCONNECT > under: Service Info > 23-Body > Doors - Rear > GLASS, Door, Stationary > Removal.
NOTE:
Remove the fastener (1) holding the window retaining bracket (2) so the stationary glass channel can be rocked forward enough to gain access to the foam weatherstrip seal (4) (Fig 1) & (Fig 2).
NOTE:
The rear door stationary glass does not need to be completely removed in order to replace the foam weatherstrip seal.
2. Remove the existing foam weatherstrip seals (3) from the stationary glass run (2) and discard (Fig. 2).
3. Remove adhesive backing from new die-cut foam seal (1) and adhere to stationary glass run weatherstrip (2) on the cross-car surface using the rubber seal lip (3) on the glass run as a guide (Fig. 3).
NOTE:
Install the foam weatherstrip seal starting at the end of the rubber seal lip (3) and adhering the foam seal up toward the top of the stationary glass run (4)
NOTE:
Be sure to "wrap" the foam to cover the entire cross-car surface of the fixed glass seal.
4. Reinstall the glass run by lubricating the inside channel of the fixed glass seal (2) with soapy water or glass cleaner (1) to aid insertion into the door channel. Refer to the detailed procedures available in DealerConnect > TechCONNECT > under: Service Info > 23-Body > Doors - Rear > GLASS, Door, Stationary > Installation (Fig. 4).
