Seat Track Position Sensor - Installation

INSTALLATION

WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury on vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the supplemental restraint system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, airbag, seat belt tensioner, impact sensor, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the supplemental restraint system. Failure to take the proper precautions could result in accidental airbag deployment.

1. Align the open end of the sensor to the slide tab of the sensor bracket located on the inboard side near the rear of the upper inboard seat track.
2. Reach under the rear edge of the front seat cushion to reconnect the seat wire harness connector to the seat track position sensor connector receptacle. Be certain that the latch on the connector is fully engaged.
3. Push the sensor firmly onto the bracket until the latch feature snaps into place with an audible click.
4. Do not reconnect the battery negative cable at this time. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) verification test procedure should be performed following service of any SRS component. Service and Repair.
