Intrusion Transceiver Module (ITM)

U1008-LIN 1 BUS







- When Monitored:
Continuously while the Vehicle Theft and Security System (VTSS) is armed.

- Set Condition:
If the Intrusion Transceiver Module (ITM) detects incorrect voltage on the LIN Bus circuit.





1. INTERMITTENT DTC
1. With the scan tool, erase the current Intrusion Transceiver Module DTCs.
2. Turn the ignition off.
3. Arm the VTSS and wait 1 minute.
4. Disarm the VTSS and turn the ignition on.
5. Using the scan tool, read the ITM DTCs.

Does the scan tool display the same DTC?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring harness for a possible intermittent condition. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched or partially broken wires.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

2. DISCONNECT INTRUSION SENSOR AND RECHECK DTC
1. Disconnect each of the Intrusion Sensor connectors one at a time and recheck for DTC using the following steps.
2. With the scan tool, erase the current Intrusion Transceiver Module DTCs.
3. Turn the ignition off.
4. Arm the VTSS and wait 1 minute.
5. Disarm the VTSS and turn the ignition on.
6. Using the scan tool, read the ITM DTCs.

Does the scan tool display U1008-LIN 1 BUS?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Replace the Intrusion Sensor that sets the DTC.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

3. (D122) LIN BUS CIRCUIT SHORT TO BATTERY




1. Ensure all Intrusion Sensors are disconnected.
2. Disconnect the Intrusion Transceiver Module connector.
3. Measure the voltage of the (D122) LIN Bus circuit with the ignition switch Off and On.

Is there any voltage present?

Yes

- Repair the (D122) LIN Bus circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 4

4. (D122) LIN BUS CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND




1. Turn the ignition Off.
2. Measure the resistance between ground and the (D122) LIN Bus circuit.

Is the resistance above 1000 ohms?

Yes

- Replace the Intrusion Transceiver Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Repair the (D122) LIN Bus circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
