B2517-LEFT REAR WINDOW POSITION SENSOR 1 CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE
- When Monitored:
Whenever the Left Rear Window Motor starts to rotate.
- Set Condition:
When the Left Rear Window Hall Sensor B Signal fails to change after a window movement command, this code will set.
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
3. Operate the left rear window up and down several times.
4. Wait 30 seconds.
5. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display B2517-LEFT REAR WINDOW POSITION SENSOR 1 CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
2. (Q309) LEFT REAR WINDOW HALL SENSOR B SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Left Rear Window Motor connector.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. Measure the voltage between ground and the (Q309) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor B Signal circuit.
Is the voltage between 4.8 and 5.3 volts?
No
- Go To 4
Yes
- Go To 3
3. (Q309) LEFT REAR WINDOW HALL SENSOR B SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO THE (Q307) LEFT REAR WINDOW HALL SENSOR A SIGNAL CIRCUIT
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Power Top Control Module C1 connector.
3. Measure the resistance between the (Q309) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor B Signal circuit in the PTCM C1 connector (cavity 9) and the (Q307) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor A Signal circuit in the PTCM C1 connector (cavity 7).
Is the resistance below 10k Ohms?
Yes
- Correct the crossed wiring between the (Q309) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor B Signal circuit and the (Q307) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor A Signal circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the power window motor.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
4. (Q309) LEFT REAR WINDOW HALL SENSOR B SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Power Top Control Module C1 connector.
3. Measure the resistance between Ground and the (Q309) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor B Signal circuit.
Is the resistance below 10k Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (Q309) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor B Signal circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 5
5. (Q309) LEFT REAR WINDOW HALL SENSOR B SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN
1. Measure the resistance of the (Q309) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor B Signal circuit between the PTCM C1 connector (cavity 9) and the Motor connector (cavity 2).
Is the resistance below 2.0 Ohms?
No
- Repair the (Q309) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor B Signal circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST Body Verification Test
Yes
- Go To 6
6. (Q309) LEFT REAR WINDOW HALL SENSOR B SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Measure the voltage between Ground and the (Q309) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor B Signal circuit.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair the (Q309) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor B Signal circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the Power Top Control Module (PTCM).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
