Installation






INSTALLATION






NOTE: If transaxle is being overhauled (clutch and/or seal replacement) or replaced, it is necessary to perform the PCM/TCM Quick Learn Procedure Quick Learn Procedure

Refer to the exploded view as necessary when performing the following steps on a 2.0L or a 2.4L
.





Refer to the exploded view as necessary when performing the following steps.

1. Install transaxle to engine. Install and transaxle-to-engine bolts and tighten to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).
2. Install upper mount to transaxle.
3. Raise engine/transaxle assembly into position, install through bolt at rear mount and tighten to 70 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).
4. Remove transmission jack and screw jack.
5. Install torque converter bolts and tighten to 88 Nm (65 ft. lbs.).
6. Install torque converter dust shield.
7. Install starter motor assembly and lower boltStarter - Installation.
8. Install crossmember assemblyCrossmember - Installation.
9. Install rear mount/bracket assembly.
10. Install halfshafts. Half Shaft - Installation.
11. Lower vehicle.
12. Install starter upper bracket-to-block bolt Starter - Installation.
13. Install throttle body support bracket (if equipped).
14. Connect crankshaft position sensor connector (if equipped with 2.7l).
15. Connect gearshift cable to manual valve lever.





16. Connect the powertrain control module electrical connector.
17. Connect oil cooler lines to the transaxle. Verify connection by pulling outward Service and Repair.
18. Install dipstick tube.
19. Install air cleaner assembly.
20. Install splash shields Splash Shield - Installation.
21. Connect battery negative cable.
