A. Power Steering Pressure Hose Inspection (All Models)

1. Raise vehicle on hoist if required.

2. Partially remove the plastic shielding (if required) on the rubber portion of the power steering pressure hose to gain access to the material specification number.





3. Read the material specification number that is ink stamped on the entire length of the rubber portion of the power steering pressure hose (Figure 1):

> If the material identification number is 3398 or 3943CM, the hose does not require replacement. Install the plastic shielding (if removed) and return the vehicle to the customer.

> If the material identification number is 3398CM, a number not listed above, or the number is not readable, replace the power steering pressure hose. Continue with the appropriate section in this service procedure for power steering pressure hose replacement instructions.
