REMOVAL

REMOVAL- SEDAN





WARNING: If equipped with Seat Belt Tensioners, the retractor will have pyrotechnics inside the retractor assembly and must be handled with care Service Precautions .

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.

WARNING: Wait two minutes for the system reserve capacitor to discharge before servicing any airbag components. Failure to do this may result in serious or fatal injury.

2. Slide seat to the full forward position.
3. Using a trim stick or equivalent, gently pry off the seat belt anchor bolt cover (1) on the outboard side of the seat cushion side panel.
4. Remove the seat belt anchor bolt (2).





5. Remove the B-pillar trim panel (3) B-Pillar Trim Panel - Removal.
6. Feed the seat belt webbing through the upper trim panel.
7. Remove the seat belt upper turning loop bolt.
8. Using a trim stick or equivalent, gently pry the seat belt webbing guide from the B-pillar (6).
9. Remove the lower seat belt retractor mounting bolt (4).
10. Disconnect the two connectors to the retractor (5 - tensioner squib and seat belt switch).
11. Remove seat belt and retractor from vehicle.

REMOVAL- CONVERTIBLE





1. Move seat all the way forward.
2. Disconnect negative battery cable and isolate.
3. Remove recliner handle .
4. Remove outboard side shield Seat Cushion Side Shields - Removal.
5. Remove seat belt anchor bolt.
6. Disengage seat back cover J-Clips.
7. Remove lower outer shield. (2)





8. Remove lower inner shield fasteners (1) and slide shield (2) down and out of seat back cover.





9. Disengage rear entry cable (2) and bracket (1).
10. Remove rear entry cover, feeding seat belt through cover.
11. Remove rear entry handle and cable from seat back.





12. Feed seat belt through seat back cover.
13. Remove seat belt retractor mounting fastener (3).
14. Disconnect electrical connector.
15. Remove seat belt retractor from vehicle.
