Folding Top Latch - Removal

REMOVAL






NOTE: The left and right latch assemblies are identically mounted except for a micro switch on the left rear or lower latch to rear panel.

1. Lower the mid panel headliner. Convertible Top Headliner - Removal.
2. Make sure the mid panel is unlatched.
3. With a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the placement of the panel to panel latch assembly (3 and 6).
4. Disconnect the cable end at the latch at the front of the mid panel.
5. Unclip the horizontal rod that is attached to the center pivot assembly (with the hydraulic cylinder on it).
6. Left side only - disconnect the electrical connector (4) to the micro switch at the rear/lower latch.
7. Remove the six bolts (2) to the latch assembly - three at each latch mechanism.
8. Separate from top.
