Folding Top Cover - Removal

REMOVAL










1. Remove the headliner (2). Convertible Top Headliner - Removal.
2. Remove the Convertible Soft Top (CST) rear backlite from vehicle (3). Convertible Top Backlite - Removal
3. Position the roof in the vertical position.
4. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
5. Remove the top cover header retainer and the retainer fasteners.










6. Remove the forward rail weather-strips and rear side rail weather-strips.

NOTE: The middle side rail weather-strips and there retainers Do Not need to be removed for the top cover removal.

7. Note the size, quantity and location of all side weather-strip retainer shims.
8. Remove the forward and rear rail weather-strip retainers (5), fasteners (10 and 7) and shims (11 and 6).
9. Carefully pull the top cover (1) from the forward edge of the header casting (12) and fold toward the rear of the vehicle





10. Disconnect the listing flaps (1) from the #3 bow (4).
11. Remove both the left and right tension cable forward retainers and disconnect cables from the header casting.
12. Remove the sail panel nuts, near the trough seal channel.
13. Remove the spring attachment end of the top cover tension cables.
14. If replacing the top cover, remove the tension cables.
15. Remove the push pins from the backlite opening.
16. Carefully pull the plastic edge retainers from the top and sides of the backlite opening.
17. Remove the top cover from the vehicle.
