DeckBar - Removal

REMOVAL





1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative remote cable.
2. Remove the decklid Decklid - Removal.
3. Remove the rear and side trunk trim panels. Trunk Trim Panel - Removal.
4. Disconnect the deckbar hydraulic cylinders on both the left and right sides (3) Folding Top Hydraulic Cylinder - Removal.





5. Remove the mounting fasteners (2) and remove the MOAB bracket (1) mounting cover (3).
6. From the right side, unclip the decklid harness from the deckbar.





7. With a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the placement of the rear hinges onto the body.
8. Remove the two bolts (2) to each deckbar hinge.





9. Push down on both deckbar cylinder's (2) until they have reached the cylinder stops (3). As the cable assembly (1) moves with the cylinder, the decklid forward latches will release.

10. With the help of an assistant, remove the deckbar from the vehicle.
11. Transfer all necessary parts to the new deckbar if replacing with a new one.
