B236A WINDOW WASHER MOTOR 1 CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN
1. CONDITION PRESENT
1. Ignition on, engine off.
2. Press the Front Washer Switch.
Does the Front Washer Motor Function?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Go To 3
2. INTERMITTENT WIRING AND CONNECTORS
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, erase all TIPM DTCs.
3. Turn the ignition off.
4. The conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time.
5. Using the schematics as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors specific to this circuit.
6. Wiggle the wiring while checking for shorts and open circuits.
Were there any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Test Complete.
3. (W10) FRONT WASHER PUMP MOTOR CONTROL
1. Turn the ignition off to the lock position.
2. Disconnect the Windshield Washer Pump harness connector.
3. Ignition on, engine not running.
4. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (W10) Front Washer Pump Motor Control circuit in the Windshield Washer Pump harness connector while pressing the Front Washer Switch.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Replace the Front Washer Pump Motor.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 4
4. (W10) FRONT WASHER PUMP MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off to the lock position.
2. Disconnect the TIPM C1 harness connector.
NOTE: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
3. Measure the resistance of the (W10) Front Washer Pump Motor Control Circuit from the TIPM C1 harness connector to the Windshield Washer Pump harness connector.
Is the resistance above 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (W10) Front Washer Pump Motor Control circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
