B18DB-PASSENGER DOOR PAWL SWITCH STUCK - JS27
- When Monitored:
Whenever the module is awake.
- Set Condition:
When the Passenger Window Drop (Pawl) Switch Sense circuit is active for over 30 seconds.
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
3. Open and close the passenger door several times from the outside and inside handles.
4. Wait 30 seconds.
5. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.
Does the scan tool display B18DB-PASSENGER DOOR PAWL SWITCH STUCK?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
2. DOOR HANDLE (INSIDE OR OUTSIDE) STICKING
1. Open and close the passenger door several times from the outside and inside handles.
Does either handle tend to stick?
Yes
- Disassemble the passenger door panel. Locate, repair or replace the cause for the sticking handle (or latch).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 3
3. PASSENGER DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY
1. With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
2. Disconnect the Passenger Door Latch connector.
3. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.
4. Wait one minute.
Does the scan tool display B18DB-PASSENGER DOOR PAWL SWITCH STUCK?
No
- Replace the Passenger Door Latch Assembly.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
Yes
- Go To 4
4. (Q58) PASSENGER WINDOW DROP SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Passenger Door Module C2 connector.
3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (Q58) Passenger Window Drop Switch Sense circuit.
Is the resistance below 10,000 Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (Q58) Passenger Window Drop Switch Sense circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the Passenger Door Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
