B1096-FRONT RIGHT SEAT HEATER CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW







- When Monitored:
Ignition on, during the heated seat operation.

- Set Condition:
This code is set immediately after the Heated Seat Module detects the control circuit shorted to ground.





1. VERIFY THAT DTC B1096-FRONT RIGHT SEAT HEATER CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW IS ACTIVE
1. With the scan tool, record and erase CCN DTCs.
2. Operate the Heated Seat Switch in both positions several times.
3. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the DTC B1096-FRONT RIGHT SEAT HEATER CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW reset?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

2. DISCONNECT RIGHT CUSHION HEATER 2-WAY CONNECTOR AND READ DTCS




1. Disconnect the Left Seat Cushion Heater 2-way connector.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean and repair as necessary.

2. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
3. Operate the Heated Seat Switch in both positions several times.
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display the same DTC?

Yes

- Go To 5

No

- Go To 3

3. CHECK THE (P188) RIGHT SEAT HEATER B(+) DRIVER FOR A SHORT TO GROUND AT THE SEAT




1. Measure between the (P188) Right Seat Heater B(+) Driver circuit at the Right Seat Heater connector (component side) and the seat frame for a short to ground.

Is the resistance below 1,000 Ohms?

Yes

- Repair/replace the pigtail/heating element as necessary for a short to ground condition.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 4

4. CHECK THE RIGHT HEATER ELEMENT SEAT CUSHION AND SEAT BACK RESISTANCE
1. Gain access to the seat cushion and seat back heater connectors.
2. Check the resistance of each of the heater elements by measuring between the (P188) Right Seat Heater B(+) Driver and the Ground circuit at the seat cushion and seat back heater connectors.
3. For the seat cushion element the resistance value is 3 to 5.5 Ohms.
4. For the seat back element the resistance value is 4 to 6 Ohms.

Is the resistance correct for each heater element?

Yes

- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent short to ground.

No

- Replace the heater element as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

5. CHECK THE (P188) RIGHT SEAT HEATER B(+) DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND




1. Make sure the Right Seat Cushion Heater 2-way connector is still disconnected.
2. Disconnect the Heated Seat Module connector.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean and repair as necessary.

3. Measure the (P188) Right Seat Heater B(+) Driver circuit cavity K at the Heated Seat Module connector to ground.

Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (P188) Right Seat Heater B(+) Driver circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Replace the Heated Seat Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
