1. Install fuel tank shield (3) nuts (1) to fuel tank (2). Tighten nuts (1).




WARNING: Support fuel tank with a transmission jack or equivalent. Use straps to secure the fuel tank to the jack. Failure to properly support and secure the fuel tank during removal may cause fuel to spill or fuel tank to fall from jack assembly.

2. Install fuel line to fuel tank.
3. Position fuel tank onto a transmission jack or equivalent and raise the fuel tank (1) into vehicle position.
4. Connect electrical connector to fuel level sensor.
5. Install fuel tank straps (3) and bolts (2). Tighten to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).




6. Install electronically controlled clutch (1) if equipped with all wheel drive, Installation.




7. Install canister hose (2) to tank connection (1).




8. Install fuel tube vent line (1) to the quick connect fitting (2).
9. Install fuel filler tube (4) to fuel tank. Tighten hose clamp (3) to 3 Nm (27 in. lbs.).




10. Connect fuel tank vapor line (1).




11. Connect fuel pump module quick connect fitting (1) to fuel delivery line (2).





12. Wipe seal area of tank clean and install a new O-ring seal to fuel tank.





13. Connect fuel line between fuel pump module (1) and fuel level unit (2), if equipped with AWD.





14. Install fuel pump module to fuel tank.




15. Position fuel pump module into fuel tank, line up module with mark made during removal procedure. Install fuel pump module lock using special tool 9340. Tighten until the lockring and fuel pump module is fully seated.




16. Connect fuel line (3) to fuel pump module (1).
17. Connect the electrical connector (2).
18. Connect the battery cable.
19. Fill fuel tank. Use the scan tool to pressurize the fuel system. Check for leaks.
