REMOVAL





1. Put decklid in the service position Decklid Service Position.
2. Remove the trunk side trim panel Trunk Trim Panel - Removal.

CAUTION: Damage to the decklid forward latch cable can result if the latch assembly is twisted or moved out of position. Slide the cable sleeve (3) forward out of the latch bracket (2) to gain freedom of movement.

3. Remove the decklid forward latch retaining bolts (2)
4. Separate the latch striker pad (3) from the latch bracket (4). The striker pad (3) and the decklid forward latch sandwich the bracket (4) so that the pad pulls upward and the latch falls downward when the latch retaining bolts (2) are removed.
