REMOVAL





1. Put decklid in the service position, Decklid Service Position.

CAUTION: Damage to the decklid forward latch cable can result if the latch assembly is twisted or moved out of position. Slide the cable sleeve (3) forward out of the latch bracket (2) to gain freedom of movement.

2. Remove the trunk side trim panel Trunk Trim Panel - Removal.
3. Mark the orientation of the decklid forward latch bracket to the vehicle left inner quarter panel to ensure proper alignment during installation.
4. Remove the decklid forward latch bracket retaining bolts (1).
5. Disconnect the decklid forward latch switch electrical connector.
6. Turn the latch and bracket assembly over to gain access to the cable. Remove the cable end from the latch.




7. Disconnect the cable (1) from the deckbar hydraulic cylinder (2).
8. Unclip the cable from inner quarter and remove from vehicle.
