40/41TE Automatic Transaxle (NGC)
P0602-CONTROL MODULE PROGRAMMING ERROR/NOT PROGRAMMED
For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical.
Theory of Operation
The controller is programmed during manufacturing process with generic software to facilitate testing. This software does not have the proper calibrations to control a transmission in a vehicle. The check for generic software is made at power-up (ignition on). If generic software is detected, the MIL will illuminate, transmission will be placed in limp-in, and will stay in limp-in even if the fault is cleared or until the proper software is installed.
- When Monitored:
Check for generic software is made at power-up or ignition on.
- Set Condition:
If generic software is found, the MIL will light immediately. This DTC is designed to notify the technician that the controller has generic software installed.
Always perform the 40/41TE Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Testing and Inspection
