Removal







REMOVAL





1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative remote cable.
2. Open top and put in the vertical position.
3. Remove the push pins on the headliner at the header.
4. Peel back the headliner and release the j-clips to the headliner.
5. Disconnect the heated backlite electrical connectors.
6. Remove the fasteners mounting the headliner to the rear glass top panel.
7. Remove the screws on the sides of the top retaining the elastic straps.
8. Allow the headliner to lay in rear sock.
9. Remove headliner by releasing remaining clips.
10. Remove the front side rail trim on both sides.
11. Remove the middle side rail trim on both sides.
12. Remove the front header bezel.
13. Remove the side rail middle weatherstrips on both sides.
14. Peel back the soft top cover from the front and mid sections.
15. Remove the side rail rear weatherstrips on both sides, but only the front portion of the rear seals.
16. Remove the side rail rear weatherstrips, rear portion of the seats, on both sides.
17. Remove soft top cover and lay on clean bench.
18. Unclip the heated backlite harness retainer push pins.
19. Loosen two and remove six fasteners to the rear folding top panel.
20. With the help of an assistant, remove the last two fasteners and remove the rear panel and place on bench.
21. Remove the bolts to the front header casting assembly and remove from rail.
22. Remove the bolts to the 2/3 bow assembly and remove from rail.
23. Using a trim stick or equivalent, remove the door sill trim panel.
24. Remove the rear seat cushion.
25. Remove the seat belt webbing anchors.
26. Remove the package tray or upper rear seat back trim.
27. Remove the rear seat back.
28. Remove the rear cup holder.
29. Remove the quarter trim panel on the appropriate side.
30. Remove one bolt to the retractor bracket on seat back.
31. Open trunk in the service or canopy position Decklid Service Position.
32. Remove the four bolts to the cargo trunk divider.
33. Remove the spare tire cover/trunk floor.
34. Remove the rear trunk sill/trim.
35. Remove the trunk side trim panel on the appropriate side.
36. Disconnect any electrical connections to micro switches.
37. Remove the hydraulic cylinder and unclip the hydraulic lines.
38. Make marks with a scribe or grease pencil to align the rail upon installation.
39. Remove the bolts (1) to the center rail assembly (2) and remove from vehicle.
