OVERVIEW:
This bulletin describes fluid level checking cautions for the 6 speed Automatic (62TE/AE) Transmission.

MODELS:

2007 (CS) Pacifica

2007-2008 (JS) Avenger

2007 (JS) Sebring

2008 (J527) Sebring Convertible

NOTE:
This information applies to all models equipped with a 62TEIAE transmission (Sales Code DG2)

DISCUSSION:
Care must be used when checking the fluid level of the 6 Speed Automatic (62TE/AE) transmission. When inserting dipstick special tool 9336, excess insertion force may cause the dipstick to slip past the stop bracket in the transmission pan. If this occurs, an incorrect (overfilled) reading may be obtained. If the fluid is drained, an under fill condition will occur and cause loss of prime DTC's.

When inserting special tool 9336, carefully insert the dipstick until the tip touches the bracket inside the pan. An approximate distance that the dipstick would be inserted into the fill tube is 424 mm (16.69 in.).
