SAFETY RECALL G39 - RADIATOR FAN MOTOR CONNECTOR

MODELS:

2007 - 2008 (JS) Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Avenger

NOTE:
This recall applies only to the above vehicles equipped with a 2.4L engine ("K" in the 8th VIN Position) built through July 27, 2007 (MDH 07-27-05)

IMPORTANT:
Some of the vehicles within the above build period have already been repaired and, therefore, have been excluded from this recall.

^ Engine coolant may be drawn into the left radiator cooling fan motor connect or on about 3,700 of the above vehicles. This can cause an electrical short circuit and result in an engine compartment fire.

^ To correct this condition, a left side radiator cooling fan motor wire overlay harness must be installed on all vehicles. The left radiator cooling fan motor connect or must also be inspected for damage. Vehicles found with a damaged radiator cooling fan motor connector must also have the fan motor replaced.
