B2529-DECKLID RELEASE CONTROL CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE
For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical.
- When Monitored:
With the Ignition Switch in the on position and the Cluster (CCN) is awake.
- Set Condition:
This code will set when the Decklid/Liftgate Release Switch Sense circuit is open or shorted to voltage.
Diagnostic Test
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, record and erase all Cluster DTC's.
Try to operate the Decklid or Liftgate Release Switch.
Wait 30 seconds.
With the scan tool, read all Cluster DTC's.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go to 2
No
- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test
2. (P223) DECKLID/LIFTGATE RELEASE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Cluster C3 harness connector.
Disconnect the Decklid or Liftgate Release Switch harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage of the (P223) Decklid/Liftgate Release Switch Sense circuit in the Decklid or Liftgate Release Switch harness connector.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair the (P223) Decklid/Liftgate Release Switch Sense circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go to 3
3. (P223) DECKLID/LIFTGATE RELEASE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT OPEN
Turn the ignition off.
Measure the resistance of the (P223) Decklid/Liftgate Release Switch Sense circuit between the Cluster C3 harness connector and the Decklid or Liftgate Release Switch harness connector.
Does the ohm meter read open circuit?
Yes
- Repair the (P223) Decklid/Liftgate Release Switch Sense circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go to 4
4. (Z910) GROUND CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage of the (Z910) Ground circuit in the Decklid or Liftgate Release Switch harness connector.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair the (Z910) Ground circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go to 5
5. (Z910) GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
Turn the ignition off.
Measure the resistance of the (Z910) Ground circuit between the Cluster C3 harness connector and the Decklid or Liftgate Release Switch harness connector.
Does the ohm meter read open circuit?
Yes
- Repair the (Z910) Ground circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the Cluster (CCN).
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test
