B251B-LEFT REAR WINDOW - INCORRECT DIRECTION - PTCM - JS27





For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical.

- When Monitored:
Whenever the Left Rear Window Motor starts to rotate.

- Set Condition:
When the Left Rear Window Motor Sensor detects that it is starting to go in the opposite direction of the command, this code will set.





Diagnostic Test

1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, record and erase DTC's
Operate left rear windows up and down several times (if possible).
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Does the scan tool display B251B-LEFT REAR WINDOW - INCORRECT DIRECTION?

Yes

- Go to 2

No

- The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

2. (Q307) LEFT REAR WINDOW HALL SENSOR A SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN




Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Left Rear Window Motor connector.
Disconnect the Power Top Control Module C1 connector.
Measure the resistance of the (Q307) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor A Signal circuit between the PTCM C1 connector (cavity 7) and the Motor connector (cavity 5).
Is the resistance below 2.0 ohms?

No

- Repair the (Q307) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor A Signal circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

Yes

- Go to 3

3. (Q309) LEFT REAR WINDOW HALL SENSOR B SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN




Measure the resistance of the (Q309) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor B Signal circuit between the PTCM C1 connector (cavity 9) and the Motor connector (cavity 2).
Is the resistance below 2.0 ohms?

No

- Repair the (Q309) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor B Signal circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

Yes

- Go to 4

4. (Q309) LEFT REAR WINDOW HALL SENSOR B SIGNAL CIRCUIT CROSSED WITH THE (Q307) LEFT REAR WINDOW HALL SENSOR A SIGNAL CIRCUIT




Measure the resistance between the (Q309) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor B Signal circuit in the PTCM C1 connector (cavity 9) and the (Q307) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor A Signal circuit in the Motor connector (cavity 5).
Is the resistance below 10,000.0 ohms?

Yes

- Correct the crossed wiring between the (Q309) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor B Signal circuit and the (Q307) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor A Signal circuit.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Go to 5

5. (Q111) LEFT REAR WINDOW DRIVER (UP) CIRCUIT CROSSED WITH THE (Q211) LEFT REAR WINDOW DRIVER (DOWN) CIRCUIT




Disconnect the Power Top Control Module C2 connector
Measure the resistance between the (Q111) Left Rear Window Driver (Up) circuit in the PTCM C2 connector (cavity 14) and the (Q211) Left Rear Window Driver (Down) circuit in the motor connector (cavity 3).
Is the resistance below 10,000.0 ohms?

Yes

- Correct the crossed wiring between the (Q111) Left Rear Window Driver (Up) circuit and the (Q211) Left Rear Window Driver (Down) circuit.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Replace the window motor.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
