B2518-LEFT REAR WINDOW POSITION SENSOR 2 CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE - PTCM - JS27





For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical.

- When Monitored:
Whenever the Left Rear Window Motor starts to rotate.

- Set Condition:
When the Left Rear Window Hall Sensor A Signal fails to change after a window movement command, this code will set.





Diagnostic Test

1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, record and erase DTC's
Operate the left rear window up and down several times.
Wait 30 seconds.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Does the scan tool display B2518-LEFT REAR WINDOW POSITION SENSOR 2 CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE?

Yes

- Go to 2

No

- The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

2. (Q309) LEFT REAR WINDOW HALL SENSOR B SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN




Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Left Rear Window Motor connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage between ground and the (Q307) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor A Signal circuit.
Is the voltage between 4.8 and 5.3 volts?

No

- Go to 4

Yes

- Go to 3

3. (Q309) LEFT REAR WINDOW HALL SENSOR B SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO THE (Q307) LEFT REAR WINDOW HALL SENSOR A SIGNAL CIRCUIT




Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Power Top Control Module C1 connector.
Measure the resistance between the (Q309) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor B Signal circuit in the PTCM C1 connector (cavity 9) and the (Q307) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor A Signal circuit in the PTCM C1 connector (cavity 7).
Is the resistance below 10,000.0 ohms?

Yes

- Correct the crossed wiring between the (Q309) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor B Signal circuit and the (Q307) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor A Signal circuit.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Replace the power window motor.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

4. (Q307) LEFT REAR WINDOW HALL SENSOR A SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND




Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Power Top Control Module C1 connector.
Measure the resistance between Ground and the (Q307) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor A Signal circuit.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (Q309) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor B Signal circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Go to 5

5. (Q307) LEFT REAR WINDOW HALL SENSOR A SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN




Measure the resistance of the (Q307) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor A Signal circuit between the PTCM C1 connector (cavity 7) and the Motor connector (cavity 5).
Is the resistance below 2.0 ohms?

No

- Repair the (Q307) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor A Signal circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

Yes

- Go to 6

6. (Q307) LEFT REAR WINDOW HALL SENSOR A SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE




Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage between Ground and the (Q307) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor A Signal circuit.
Is there any voltage present?

Yes

- Repair the (Q307) Left Rear Window Hall Sensor A Signal circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Replace the Power Top Control Module (PTCM).
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
