B21C3-POWER SUPPLY RIGHT REAR WINDOW AND TONNEAU MISSING - PTCM

- When Monitored:
With the Ignition Switch in the on position and the Power Top Control Module (PTCM) is awake.

- Set Condition:
This code will set by the Power Top Control Module (PTCM) when the Convertible Top is activated and the Tonneau Cover Motor power supply is not detected, or the Right Rear Window is activated and the power supply is not detected.





Diagnostic Test

1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, record and erase all PTCM DTC's.
Try to operate the Power Top Switch.
Wait 30 seconds.
With the scan tool, read all PTCM DTC's.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes

- Go to 2

No

- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test

2. (Q316) RIGHT REAR WINDOW HALL SENSOR SUPPLY CIRCUIT OPEN




With the scan tool, erase DTC's.
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Right Rear Window Motor harness connector.
Disconnect the PTCM C1 harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the (Q316) Right Rear Window Hall Sensor Supply circuit between the Right Rear Window Motor harness connector and the PTCM C1 harness connector.
Does the ohm meter read open circuit?

Yes

- Repair (Q316) Right Rear Window Hall Sensor Supply for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Body Verification Test

No

- Go to 3

3. (Q983) TONNEAU COVER MOTOR RETRACT SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN




Disconnect the PTCM C2 harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the (Q983) Tonneau Cover Motor Retract Signal circuit between the PTCM C2 harness connector and the Tonneau Cover Motor harness connector.
Does the ohm meter read open circuit?

Yes

- Repair the (Q983) Tonneau Cover Motor Retract Signal circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go to 4

4. (Q984) TONNEAU COVER MOTOR EXTEND SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN




Measure the resistance of the (Q984) Tonneau Cover Motor Extend Signal circuit between the PTCM C2 harness connector and the Tonneau Cover Motor harness connector.
Does the ohm meter read open circuit?

Yes

- Repair the (Q984) Tonneau Cover Motor Extend Signal circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Replace the Power Top Control Module (PTCM).
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
