Intermediate Shaft Lower Extension - Removal

REMOVAL





1. Access and remove intermediate shaft (6). Intermediate Shaft - Removal
2. Remove intermediate shaft cover (1) from dash panel.
3. Raise and support vehicle. Maintenance




4. Remove roll pin fastening intermediate shaft extension (4) to steering gear shaft (3) as follows:
a. Insert Remover (1), Special Tool 6831A, through roll pin fastening intermediate shaft extension to power steering gear.
b. Thread knurled nut (2) all way onto end of Remover.
c. While holding Remover head stationary, turn hex nut pulling roll pin from shafts.
d. Remove roll pin from tool.
5. Slide intermediate shaft extension (4) off steering gear shaft (3).
