Park Assist Sensor - Description
DESCRIPTION
The Park Assist Sensors generate ultrasonic pulses when triggered by the park assist module when an obstacle is detected. The sensors then signal the module when reflected ultrasonic pulses are received. The sensors detect objects with an ultrasonic pulse that reflects off the object and then is sent to the module to determine the distance of the object.
The Park Assist Sensors are located in the rear bumper fascia mounted equally apart.
The numbering system for the park assist sensors allows for up to ten sensors on the vehicle, six front and four rear. The sensors are numbered in a clockwise manner starting at the left front bumper. The left front sensor (if equipped with front park assist) is the number 1 sensor. The numbering continues in a clockwise direction around the vehicle, so the left rear sensor is the number 10 sensor.
