Front Seat Belt Retractor - Installation
INSTALLATION
SEAT BELT WEB STOP BUTTON
The only component of the seat belt and retractor that is available for individual service replacement is the plastic web stop button that prevents the latch plate from falling to the floor while in the stored position. Refer to the instructions supplied with the service kit for the proper web stop button replacement procedures.
1. Position seat belt and retractor (6) in vehicle.
2. Install the turning loop (5) retaining bolt in the seat belt height adjuster (3) on the B-pillar (1). Tighten bolt to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) and install seat belt turning loop cover (11).
3. Position the height adjuster knob cover (4) onto the height adjuster knob and firmly snap into place.
4. Install the seat belt retractor mounting bolt (7). Tighten bolt to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
5. Slip the B-pillar seat belt retaining ring (15) onto the seat belt webbing and then install the two B-pillar seat belt retaining ring mounting screws (14).
6. Connect the retractor electrical connector (8).
7. Install the lower B-pillar trim B-Pillar Trim.
8. Install the lower seat belt anchor bolt (12) and lower seat belt anchor bolt cover (11) through lower B-pillar. Tighten bolt to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
WARNING: Do not connect the battery negative cable Refer to appropriate testing. Serious or fatal injury may result if the system test is not performed first.
9. Close hood.
