Passenger Airbag - Installation







INSTALLATION





1. Position the passenger airbag (2) in the glove box opening and maneuver it enough to clear all obstacles and push it up into the opening in the instrument panel. Once it is far enough up in the instrument panel it should rest on the cross-car beam.
2. Using a long screwdriver or equivalent, reach up on both sides of the passenger airbag (2) to install the screws (1) that secure the passenger airbag to the instrument panel pad and door.
3. Connect the passenger airbag electrical connector (4) located on the inboard side of the passenger airbag, attached to the instrument panel steel reinforcement.
4. Install the two lower screws (1) attaching the passenger airbag (2) to the cross-car beam. Tighten screws to 10 Nm (89 in. lbs.).
5. Install the glove box assembly Instrument Panel Glove Box - Installation.

WARNING: DO NOT CONNECT THE BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE. PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH MAY RESULT IF THE SYSTEM TEST IS NOT PERFORMED FIRST. FOR THE SYSTEM TEST, Supplemental Restraints Verification Test

6. Close hood.
