Driver Airbag - Removal
REMOVAL
1. Open hood, disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
WARNING: Wait two minutes for the airbag system reserve capacitor to discharge before beginning any airbag system or component service. Failure to do so may result in accidental airbag deployment, and personal injury.
2. Remove the two retaining bolts (5) to the driver airbag (3) from the rear of the steering wheel.
3. Disconnect the two squib connectors (2) from the back of the driver airbag (3).
4. Remove driver airbag (3) from vehicle.
NOTE: When replacing a driver airbag, the new airbag will come with the trim cover and horn switch included. If undeployed, they need not be transferred to the new driver airbag.
