Fuel Tank - Installation
INSTALLATION
1. Install fuel pump module, Fuel Pump Module - Installation.
2. Install all fuel and vapor lines to fuel tank.
WARNING: Support fuel tank with a transmission jack or equivalent. Use straps to secure the fuel tank to the jack. Failure to properly support and secure the fuel tank during removal may cause fuel to spill or fuel tank to fall from jack assembly.
3. Position fuel tank onto a transmission jack or equivalent and raise fuel tank into vehicle position.
4. Install straps (2) and fuel tank strap bolts (1), tighten bolts to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).
5. Install fuel fill hose (1) and clamp (2) to fuel tank (3), tighten clamp to 3 Nm (30 in. lbs.).
6. Connect fuel vapor recirculation line (1) at the right rear of fuel tank.
7. Connect EVAP vapor line (3) at the right front of fuel tank.
8. Connect fuel supply line (2).
9. Connect vapor canister line (1).
10. Connect fuel pump electrical connector (2) to chassis connector (1).
NOTE: Balance is critical on the propeller shaft, align the marks made during the removal of the propeller shaft in order to install the propeller shaft back to it's original position.
11. If equipped with all wheel drive (AWD), align the marks on the propeller shaft rear connection and install the propeller shaft, Fuel Pump Module - Installation.
12. Install exhaust system, Muffler - Installation.
13. Connect the negative battery cable, tighten the nut to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.).
14. Fill fuel tank and install fuel cap.
15. Use the scan tool ASD Fuel System Test to pressurize the fuel system. Check for leaks.
