Lighting and Horns: Service Precautions







WARNINGS

Eye protection should be used when servicing glass components. Personal injury or death could result.

This vehicle contains mercury added devices added by the manufacturer: High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps. Remove devices before vehicle disposal. Upon removal of devices, please reuse, recycle, or dispose of as hazardous waste.

Do not back probe any connectors or pierce any wiring to the HID headlamp system. High voltage (ac voltage) is used in this system and component and personal injury or death could result Diagnosis and Testing - High Intensity Discharge Headlamps.

Do not power up the headlamp assembly with the headlamp access cover off. A high voltage AC (Alternating Current) shock may occur causing personal injury or death.

On vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. Failure to take the proper precautions could result in accidental airbag deployment and possible personal injury or death.

Do not touch the glass of halogen bulbs with fingers or other possibly oily surfaces, reduced bulb life will result. Do not use bulbs other than those indicated in the Bulb Application table. Damage to lamp and/or Daytime Running Lamp Module can result. Do not use fuses, circuit breakers or relays having greater amperage value than indicated on the fuse panel or in the Owners Manual.

Do not use bulbs other than those listed in the Bulb Application Table. Damage to lamp can result. Do not touch halogen bulbs with fingers or other oily surfaces. Bulb life will be reduced.
