Front HVAC Housing

HVAC HOUSING

NOTE: The HVAC housing must be removed from the vehicle and disassembled for service of the A/C evaporator.





1. Remove the HVAC housing (1) from the vehicle and place it on a workbench .
2. Remove the air inlet housing (2) from the HVAC housing .
3. Remove the air distribution housing (3) from the HVAC housing .




4. Remove the A/C expansion valve from the A/C evaporator (5) Removal.
5. Remove the evaporator temperature sensor from the upper HVAC housing (2) Removal.
6. Remove the blower motor resistor or power module (4), depending on application or .
7. Remove the blower motor (3).
8. Disengage the HVAC wire harness from the routing clips and remove the wire harness.
9. Remove two screws that secure the support bracket (6) to the lower HVAC housing (1) and remove the bracket.
10. Remove the thirteen screws that secure the upper HVAC housing to the lower HVAC housing and separate the housing halves.
11. Carefully lift the A/C evaporator and insulator out of the lower half of the HVAC housing.
