Power Brake Booster - Installation

INSTALLATION





NOTE: Before power brake booster (1) installation, be certain a NEW dash seal (2) is installed on the booster mounting studs.





1. Install power brake booster (3) through engine compartment, guiding push rod and mounting studs through dash panel with vacuum check valve oriented to 10 O'clock position on booster face.




2. Install four power brake booster mounting nuts (2). Tighten nuts to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.).
3. Slide booster push rod (1) onto brake pedal pin. Install NEW retaining clip (4) securing push rod to brake pedal.




4. Install and adjust NEW stop lamp switch (1) in pedals assembly. Installation

CAUTION: When installing master cylinder on vehicle, a NEW vacuum seal MUST be installed on master cylinder.

5. Install master cylinder and coolant recovery bottle. Master Cylinder - Installation
6. Connect negative (-) battery cable to battery post.
7. Fill master cylinder with clean, fresh Mopar(R) Brake Fluid or equivalent, then bleed brakes. Brake Bleeding
8. Road test vehicle to ensure proper operation of brakes.
