INSTALLATION
1. Slide leading end of front parking brake cable into hole in flange of lever. Slide cable retainer on end of cable housing into hole until retainer fingers click into place.
2. Pull button on end of cable strand out of housing and route around lever cam up to take-up reel.
3. Install front cable button (1) into lever take-up reel (2) as shown.
4. Slide any extra cable back into housing.
5. Position lever against left lower cowl (1) and install two mounting bolts (3) and one nut (2). Tighten all three fasteners to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).
6. Install body control module mounting bracket. Install three mounting nuts and two wiring routing clips. Tighten all three fasteners to 14 Nm (125 in. lbs.).

8. Connect wiring connector (1) at parking brake indicator lamp switch (2).
9. Connect parking brake release rod at parking brake lever.
10. Route front cable (2) along left side of floor pan (5) below carpet.
11. Slide trailing end of front cable through hole (4) in floor pan.
12. Install cable routing clips over studs (3) on floor pan under left side carpet.
13. Install cable grommet (1) in floor pan.
14. Position carpet into place.
15. Install left B-pillar trim panel.
16. Install left front seat belt anchor bolt at B-pillar.
17. Install lower cowl trim.
18. Install left front and left rear door weather strips.
19. Install left front and left rear door opening sill scuff plates.
20. Raise and support vehicle. Maintenance
21. Install cable guide (7) attaching front cable (8) to left body rail (9). Install screw (6) and tighten to 17 Nm (150 in. lbs.).
22. Slide equalizer (2) onto front cable housing (3) as shown.
23. Route front cable above left rear brake tube and rear driveline module (1) (if equipped with AWD) to right rear parking brake cable (3).
24. While holding cable connector on end of front cable (5) secure with a pair of pliers at the front cable button, Place right rear cable button (4) into cable connector. Release cables allowing button to seat. It may take some hand pressure to completely seat button.
25. Place left rear parking brake cable button (2) into equalizer (10). Release cables allowing button to seat. It may take some hand pressure to completely seat button.
26. Lower vehicle.
27. Unlock automatic adjuster in parking brake lever. Service and Repair
28. Connect battery negative cable to battery post.
29. Adjust parking brake shoes. Adjustments
