Integrated Control Unit (ICU) - Installation
INSTALLATION
1. Place ICU with mounting bracket (2) over two mounting bolts (1) in frame rail. Tighten bolts to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
NOTE: To connect the ABM wiring connector to the ABM in the following step, begin with the release lever in the full upward (released) position. Push the connector onto the ABM socket and rotate the release lever (2) downward until it snaps into place in the locked position below the release tab (1).
2. Install ABM wiring connector (2) into socket of ABM.
NOTE: When installing the chassis brake tubes, make sure the correct brake tube is installed in the correct port on the ICU. The brake tubes going to the wheel brakes are as follows:
- (1) - Right front brake
- (2) - Left rear brake
- (3) - Right rear brake
- (4) - Left front brake
3. Install four chassis brake tubes (1, 2, 3, 4) into outlet ports of ICU. Tighten brake tube nuts to 14 Nm (120 in. lbs.).
4. Thread primary (4) and secondary (3) brake tubes into ICU ports as indicated. Brake tubes must be held securely when tightened to control orientation of flex section. Tighten tube nuts to 14 Nm (120 in. lbs.).
5. Remove brake pedal holding tool.
6. Connect negative battery cable to battery post.
7. Fill master cylinder with clean, fresh Mopar(R) Brake Fluid or equivalent, then bleed base brakes and ABS. Brake Bleeding
8. Hook up scan tool to initialize the ABM and perform the following:
a. Clear any faults.
b. Perform the ABS Verification Test and road test the vehicle to ensure proper operation of brakes. ABS Verification Test
