Cowl Reseal
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves inspecting the carpet for moisture and resealing the plenum cowl ends
MODELS:
2007 - **2008** (CS) Pacifica
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customer describes moist carpet on drivers or passenger side.
PARTS REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Open the front doors. Using Trim Stick C-4755, disengage push pins attaching door sill plates to door sill and kick panels, lift carpet and inspect under carpet for moisture. If carpet is damp, vacuum and air out as necessary to dry.
2. Open hood panel.
3. Peel back hider flap at hood hinges. This will expose the leak path at the base of the inner plenum.
4. Use a screwdriver or similar tool to remove excess Grey Thumb Grade sealer where vertical side of plenum intersects with seam of front and rear plenum (Fig. 1).
5. Apply RTV sealer, repeat on other side and allow to dry for 20 minutes.
6. After drying time, pour water over sealed area. (Low pressure, so not disturb new sealer)
7. Inspect for water penetration at front corners of passenger compartment behind instrument panel (Fig. 2).
8. Reposition carpet, install kick panels and scuff plates.
9. Clip hood hinge hider flaps.
10. Close hood.
