PDM-42-LIN SHORT TO GROUND
For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical
- When Monitored:
Whenever battery power is supplied to the LIN module (on the window motor).
- Set Condition:
If the LIN voltage stays low for over five seconds, this code will set.
Diagnostic Test
1. DTC PRESENT
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch from Off to Run.
Operate the passenger window switch in all positions several times.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display 42-LIN SHORT TO GROUND?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition that caused this code to set is not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
2. (D500) LIN BUS CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Passenger Door Module C1 connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (D500) LIN Bus in the PDM C1 connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 M ohms?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Replace the Passenger Door Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
3. (D500) LIN BUS WIRE SHORT TO GROUND
Disconnect the Passenger Window Motor connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (D500) LIN Bus in the PDM C1 connector.
Is the resistance below 10,000.0 ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (D500) LIN Bus wire for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the Passenger Window Motor (regulator).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
